What's Happening?
Beckington Parish Council is consulting on the draft Beckington Parish Neighbourhood Plan in accordance with Regulation 14 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012.
Comments from residents and stakeholders are invited on all parts of the Draft Plan.
The draft Beckington Parish Neighbourhood Plan presents a vision for the sustainable evolution of Beckington Parish up to 2045. The Draft Plan covers a wide range of issues that will influence the well-being, sustainability and long-term conservation and improvement of the community. It recommends where future housing might go.
This statutory consultation runs for 6 weeks from 4 November 2026 to 16 December 2026 and seeks to ensure that the community and key stakeholders have had the opportunity to review and comment on the emerging Plan.
At the end of the consultation period, the Parish Council will review the responses and use them to amend the Draft Plan if necessary. A revised Plan and supporting documentation will then be submitted to Somerset Council for a further round of consultation (known as Regulation 16) prior to formal examination of the Plan.
What Next?
An information booklet and response form has been delivered to every household in the parish.
The Draft Plan will be available to view here from 4 November.

There will also be a link to an online survey – the preferred way for submitting comments on the draft plan.
For those without internet access, a copy of the Draft Plan will be available from 4 November at The Bell in Standerwick, The Full Moon in Rudge and The Woolpack in Beckington.
Public Consultations
There will be two opportunities for residents, landowners and other stakeholders to hear about the draft plan, the feedback the community has given so far and the consultancy technical work:
